About Me
Tara Chiasson
Gut Health Nutrition Specialist | Fitness Instructor | Pet Sitter & Trainer
Hi, I’m Tara — founder of Zenya Wellness, a lifelong animal advocate, fitness instructor, gut health nutritionist-in-training, and someone who believes deeply in the power of healing through movement, nourishment, and intention.

For over 15 years, I’ve worked with animals — walking, training, and caring for them with a calm, intuitive approach that’s grounded in connection. I’ve also spent years teaching dance fitness and supporting others on their own health journeys, but Zenya Wellness was born from a deeper shift — one that started within me.

After working remotely for several years, I found myself disconnected from my body, nearly 50 pounds heavier, and feeling the physical and emotional weight of perimenopause and a more sedentary lifestyle. I knew something had to change — not just physically, but holistically. That’s when I came back to my roots in wellness, this time with a renewed perspective: one that prioritized sustainability, self-compassion, and intuitive care.

Zenya Wellness is my offering — a space to support intentional wellness for wild souls.

The name Zenya is a blend of things close to my heart. It reflects the “zen” mindset — rooted in presence, intention, and intuition — and it’s also a quiet tribute to one of the greatest loves of my life: my Boston Terrier, Banya, who went missing in 2018 while we were living and traveling on the road together. This work is my way of honoring her, while stepping fully into the next version of myself — more grounded, more expansive, and more aligned with the kind of energy I want to share with others.

At Zenya Wellness, you’ll find more than just movement and nutrition guidance. You’ll find heart. Wholeness. And the reminder that caring for ourselves — and our animals — can be an act of freedom, intuition, and joy.
About Zenya Wellness
Zenya Wellness wasn’t something I created on a whim — it’s the product of a lifetime of figuring shit out the hard way, loving deeply, falling apart, and getting back up again with more tools than I started with.
I’ve been running small businesses since I was 19 — mostly in the pet world, offering everything from training to sitting to full-on animal behavior bootcamps (with plenty of slobbery kisses along the way). That work taught me how to care, how to show up, and how to tune in — to others, to animals, and eventually… to myself.

But this time around, Zenya isn’t just about what I’ve done — it’s about what I needed. I started this wellness journey after hitting a personal wall: nearly 50 pounds heavier, exhausted, disconnected, and feeling like my body was no longer mine after too much time spent sitting, surviving, and entering the murky waters of perimenopause. I didn’t start Zenya Wellness because I had it all figured out — I started it because I finally stopped waiting for someone else to fix it for me.

That’s why I’m back in school, getting certified as a Gut Health Nutrition Specialist through AFPA, and why I’ll probably never stop learning. Because when I started actually feeding and moving my body with intention — not restriction, not shame — everything changed. And I want that kind of shift for you, too.

Zenya is here to offer intentional wellness for wild souls — not perfection, not pressure, not one-size-fits-all anything. Just support, movement, nourishment, and honest conversations that help you reconnect with your body, your gut (literally and figuratively), and your sense of self.

Whether you’re here for help with your health, a more empowered way to move, or just a spark to start again — you're in the right place. I’m not here to preach. I’m here to walk with you, cheer for you, and maybe help you laugh a little while you figure it all out.

Let’s build a better way — for your body, your mind, your pets, your peace, and the parts of you that are so ready to feel good again.

My Approach
I don’t believe in quick fixes, shame-based strategies, or one-size-fits-all anything. My approach to wellness is rooted in intention, education, and a deep respect for the messy, ever-evolving process of being human.

I support the whole person — gut, body, mind, and even your connection with your animals — because I don’t believe healing happens in pieces. Whether you’re joining me for a mobility-based fitness class, working with me on gut health and nutrition, or just looking for guidance in creating a more grounded, aligned life, my mission is simple: to meet you exactly where you are and help you build from there.

I blend science-backed practices with lived experience, pulling from my background in fitness, nutrition, animal care, and my own personal transformation. I walk the walk. I’ve lived through the burnout, the weight gain, the hormonal shifts, the “what now?” moments — and I’ve built tools to help people reconnect with their bodies and wild, intuitive selves in ways that feel real and sustainable.

This isn’t about chasing perfection — it’s about feeling good again. From the inside out.
